Do I need to complete special training to obtain a home care license?
Yes, if you cannot demonstrate to DHSR that you have ever owned or operated a home care agency a license cannot be issued until you have received training approved by DHSR as set out in the NC Rules Governing the Licensure of Home Care Agencies 10A NCAC 13J.0903a Application For and Issuance of License
Who should attend the training sessions?
Anyone who does not have valid documentation to support owning or operating a home care agency.
How long are the training sessions?
The course is set up in 2 sessions: One portion with E-learning and the other in virtual Hands-on session. Two days before the hands-on session, you will have access to videos teachings and a test to take. The administration will be sending you a virtual link to join the hands-on session. In the virtual session, you will have a chance to retake the test if you did not pass on the first one. You will need a score of 80 to get your certificate.
The virtual hands-on session starts promptly at 8:30 am, ending by 12:00 pm
When are the Training sessions held?
Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month. Dates are subject to change. Please call for more information. Just make sure you register a week in advance of the chosen date. 2 days before the virtual session, you will receive access to our E-Learning.
What are the logistics to prepare for?
We recommend to have à laptop available with à functional camera, a good internet connection. If you don’t have good experience in using video conference tools, please make sure you don’t miss on the prep call the day before the virtual session from our team.
